Wedding at Monterey Beach Station

Brian & Christie

As a Monterey wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing many beautiful weddings, but Christie and Brian’s wedding at Monterey Beach Station was truly something special. The love, joy, and deep connection between these two were evident in every moment of their day. Their romantic beach wedding was filled with personal touches, meaningful traditions, and, most importantly, their unique love story.

Monterey holds a special place in their hearts, as it’s one of their favorite places to go together. It made perfect sense that they would choose the beautiful Monterey Beach Station as the backdrop for their wedding—a place that symbolizes their shared love for the ocean and each other.

A Ring with a Story

Brian designed Christie’s engagement ring, which is as unique as their love. The band features an abalone shell inlay, a nod to Brian’s family, who owned an abalone farm for over a decade.

The pink sapphire was chosen because pink is Christie’s favorite color, and the diamond in the center is a family heirloom from Brian’s great-grandmother. This thoughtful and meaningful design perfectly symbolizes their connection to family and tradition.

The Wedding Day

Their wedding day at Monterey Beach Station was a beautiful reflection of who they are as a couple. When I arrived at Brian’s room, he was already emotional, tearing up as he thought about the day ahead. He showed me the custom cufflinks Christie had made for him, which featured special GPS coordinates—yet another meaningful touch.

Meanwhile, Christie was surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mom, and Brian’s mom, all of them radiant and ready for the day. Christie had a patch from her grandmother’s wedding dress sewn into her own gown, another sentimental nod to the generations before her.

The couple’s first look was a magical and emotional moment. Brian teared up the moment he saw Christie, and so did her father, making the moment even more heartfelt. As they shared this special moment, it was clear that their connection was deeper than words could express.

What They Love Most About Each Other

When I asked Christie what she loves most about Brian, her face lit up. She talked about how effortlessly Brian can enter a room full of strangers and walk out with new friends. His easygoing and social nature is something she deeply admires. But beyond that, it's his thoughtfulness and the way he goes out of his way for her that makes her feel truly loved. And, of course, his cooking skills are a big bonus!

Brian, on the other hand, is drawn to Christie’s energy and resilience. He described her as someone with an inclusive attitude who makes everyone around her feel welcome. It’s this powerful combination of traits that he fell in love with—and it’s easy to see why.

Celebrating with Tradition and Joy

Christie and Brian’s wedding wasn’t just about the two of them—it was also about celebrating their cultures and traditions. Christie, of Greek descent, and Brian, of Jewish descent, incorporated beautiful traditions into their ceremony and reception. They exchanged the traditional Stefana crowns during their ceremony, symbolizing the unity of their marriage. During the reception, they danced the Hora, a lively and joyful celebration that got everyone on their feet.

Their choreographed first dance was another highlight of the evening, as the two twirled and swayed, completely in sync with one another. It was a beautiful way to kick off the celebration, which was filled with love, laughter, and the company of those they hold dearest.

A Perfect Beach Wedding

Christie and Brian’s wedding at Monterey Beach Station was nothing short of a dream. The love between them, their deep connection to family and tradition, and the stunning beach backdrop made for an unforgettable day.
