Suggested locations

Carmel Beach: Charming and easy location to get in an out of. I absolutely love the white sandy beach, and during sunset this location is perfection. There is also a lot of greenery for scenery and photographic variation.

Del Monte Beach & El Estero Park: This is an area that is easy to get in an out of. Sunset here is also gorgeous. It has a very different vibe from Carmel Beach, and there is also a lot of scenery that provides photographic variation.

*I am licensed in Salinas, Monterey, and Carmel, and can photograph in any public location that is not a start park or beach. If you are interested in a state park or beach location, let me know and I would be happy to look into the permitting cost. It has been a while since I have had a session at any of the local state parks or beaches, and permitting typically runs approximately $200.

FAQ

We booked...what. next?

After booking, the first step will be to plan your session. I will suggest locations and help you style wardrobe options. I love a local destination session and it is a great way to make your engagement photos special and unique.

What should we wear for our portrait session?

This is the of one of the most important questions, you will want the memories your hang on your wall to look their best. What you wear for your session is so important and I can not stress that enough. It sets the tone for your session.
Contact me so we can talk more about what you envision, and I can make some specific recommendations for you.

When will my photos be ready?

I know how exciting it is to get a glimpse of those photos, which is why I love to provide highlights within 3-4 days post session. All photos are delivered via an online gallery with high resolution images for proofing. Your gallery will be ready for you within 2-3 weeks of portrait session. For elopements and weddings, I will deliver photos within 6-10 weeks. Turnaround time may differ by up to 2 weeks during peak seasons (graduation, wedding, holidays, etc.)

How many photos will we receive?

For a portrait session, you will receive 60-100 edited images based on the package you have chosen. For a wedding, you can expect to receive about 50-60 images per hour of coverage wedding I always choose quality rather than quantity. I will choose the best and most significant photos to curate your gallery and tell your story.

How do you edit your photographs?

I do edit my photographs. My style is not "light & airy" nor "dark and moody". I would describe my style as natural, timeless, and my photographs "look how the day felt". My intention is to capture your emotion, sentiment, and passion without altering or distorting your essence, or the essence of our surrounding on the day of our session. I do enhance light, shadow, color, and will occasionally “Photoshop” the distracting stand of hair etc. I do not alter physical features but do correct blemishes and whiten teeth if needed.

Do you take indoor photographs?

I primarily shoot outdoor for portrait sessions. If you prefer indoors, and have a place that provides great natural light, I certainly would be happy to accommodate that request. For weddings and elopements I shoot in and outdoor.

What if we need to reschedule our session?

If it is raining, too cold, or too windy, we would need to reschedule. However don’t be afraid of on overcast day, the light is actually nice! We could brave through the elements but it is a bit of a challenge to have photos that appear relaxed and natural when the outdoor conditions aren’t suitable. If you need to reschedule our session, I will be happy to do so with at least 7 days notice.

Do you require a deposit and a contract?

A $125 non-refundable date reservation fee is required when booking portrait session. Wedding and elopement packages require a 25% non-refundable date reservation fee. A contract is also required, and a model release is requested. Final payment is due 7 days prior to our scheduled session. Keep in mind when we sign a contract, the time of day expressed in the contract is tentative. We will schedule the exact time of the session a few days before so we have a somewhat accurate forecast for outdoor sessions.

**your date is not secured until you have paid the date reservation fee

What kind of equipment do you use?

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III, a Canon R6, prime and zoom lenses. I always have a backup. I will use a flash and artificial light when needed for night shots and indoor weddings. I also LOVE to bring my film camera with me for those unique moments.

Do you charge sales tax?

By law, I am required to charge sales tax on tangible items.

California State. 6%
Monterey 0.25%
Monterey County Local Tax S 1%.
Monterey County District Tax 0.5%

7.75%. Total
